Say “hi” to BONJOUR CHIEN<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Montr\u00e9al, July 7, 2026 \u2014<\/strong> We are pleased to announce that Bonjour Chien<\/strong>, a work by Montreal artist Felipe Arriagada-N\u00fa\u00f1ez (Chien Champion), will join QDSi\u2019s catalogue of projects available for rental this fall.<\/p>\n

Composed of six sculptures, the work originates from the project Bonjour Chien, Here and Elsewhere<\/strong>, presented throughout Montr\u00e9al\u2019s Quartier des Spectacles and downtown area in the summer of 2026, and produced by the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership.<\/p>\n

EXPANDING OUR COLLECTION<\/h4>\n

The addition of this work to our collection represents an exciting diversification of QDSi\u2019s offering. Unlike several projects in the catalogue that rely on interactivity or digital technologies, Bonjour Chien<\/strong> offers a narrative and contemplative experience in the form of an open-air exhibition, demonstrating the catalogue\u2019s ability to meet a wide range of presentation needs and contexts.<\/p>\n

This initiative will allow other cities, organizations, and presenters to bring this artistic experience to their own communities and offer audiences an encounter with the unique world of Chien Champion.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE WORK<\/h4>\n

In the summer of 2026, Bonjour Chien, d’ici et d’ailleurs by Montreal artist Felipe Arriagada-N\u00fa\u00f1ez (Chien Champion), transformed downtown Montr\u00e9al and the Quartier des Spectacles. Presented across several iconic locations, the project invited audiences on a poetic and narrative journey featuring sculptures, installations, and video projections, following the character of Chien as he discovers the city and its inhabitants.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the story of a character who arrives with his baggage. He carries with him an entire world, a whole past, a fabric of references. Then, he discovers the city while trying to find his place and, little by little, find what could become his home.\u201d
\n\u2014 Chien Champion (Felipe Arriagada-N\u00fa\u00f1ez)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The work established itself as one of the most significant artistic projects of Montr\u00e9al\u2019s summer season. Its accessible, colourful, and inclusive universe reached a broad range of audiences while sensitively exploring universal themes such as arrival, integration, identity, and belonging.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the artist\u2019s journey between Montr\u00e9al and his Chilean roots, the work traces a path where each stop represents a stage in the character\u2019s journey. Visitors are invited to follow Chien as he discovers a new environment, transforming public space into a place of storytelling and contemplation.<\/p>\n

Bonjour Chien is an initiative of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, made possible through the financial support and collaboration of the City of Montr\u00e9al and the Government of Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n

Quartier des spectacles international is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles. It creates, co-produces, and tours immersive, participatory public art installations around the world, in collaboration with artists, cultural institutions, and cities invested in urban innovation.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE PARTENARIAT DU QUARTIER DES SPECTACLES<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The cultural heart of Montr\u00e9al, the Quartier des spectacles features the highest concentration and diversity of cultural venues in North America. Nearly 80 performance and creation spaces, along with 50 annual festivals, keep this 1 km\u00b2 district vibrant year-round. It is also renowned for its innovative urban installations and leadership in digital creativity and lighting design. The Quartier des spectacles positions Montr\u00e9al as an international benchmark and a must-see cultural and tourist destination.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2003, the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles is a non-profit organization made up of more than 85 active members on its territory. It oversees cultural programming, public space management, urban lighting, and the promotion of the Quartier as a premier cultural destination. The organization benefits from the support of the City of Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n
