Say “hi” to BONJOUR CHIEN

Montréal, July 7, 2026 — We are pleased to announce that Bonjour Chien, a work by Montreal artist Felipe Arriagada-Núñez (Chien Champion), will join QDSi’s catalogue of projects available for rental this fall.

Composed of six sculptures, the work originates from the project Bonjour Chien, Here and Elsewhere, presented throughout Montréal’s Quartier des Spectacles and downtown area in the summer of 2026, and produced by the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership.

EXPANDING OUR COLLECTION

The addition of this work to our collection represents an exciting diversification of QDSi’s offering. Unlike several projects in the catalogue that rely on interactivity or digital technologies, Bonjour Chien offers a narrative and contemplative experience in the form of an open-air exhibition, demonstrating the catalogue’s ability to meet a wide range of presentation needs and contexts.

This initiative will allow other cities, organizations, and presenters to bring this artistic experience to their own communities and offer audiences an encounter with the unique world of Chien Champion.

ABOUT THE WORK

In the summer of 2026, Bonjour Chien, d’ici et d’ailleurs by Montreal artist Felipe Arriagada-Núñez (Chien Champion), transformed downtown Montréal and the Quartier des Spectacles. Presented across several iconic locations, the project invited audiences on a poetic and narrative journey featuring sculptures, installations, and video projections, following the character of Chien as he discovers the city and its inhabitants.

The work established itself as one of the most significant artistic projects of Montréal’s summer season. Its accessible, colourful, and inclusive universe reached a broad range of audiences while sensitively exploring universal themes such as arrival, integration, identity, and belonging.

Inspired by the artist’s journey between Montréal and his Chilean roots, the work traces a path where each stop represents a stage in the character’s journey. Visitors are invited to follow Chien as he discovers a new environment, transforming public space into a place of storytelling and contemplation.

Bonjour Chien is an initiative of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, made possible through the financial support and collaboration of the City of Montréal and the Government of Québec.
