The Spectrum art installation, created by Mirari and co-produced by Quays Culture and the Quartier des spectacles Partnership, highlights the phenomenon of communication by revealing the journey of sound vibrations from voices and other sounds.

At the start of 2025, the installation was hosted by the Flatiron NoMad Partnership in New York City as part of the Winter Glow event, alongside The Diamonds, another installation from the QDSi catalogue. This case study highlights the positive outcomes of its deployment and the concrete objectives the artwork helped to achieve.

An Installation That Intrigues and Leaves a Lasting Impression

Spectrum Stands Out Within Our Catalogue for Several Reasons:

  • Its enigmatic aspect, which draws people in and encourages them to interact in order to understand how it works.

  • Its aesthetic appeal, making it an ideal piece to enhance public spaces while also inviting visitors to capture it in photos.

  • Its playful nature, offering active engagement for both the young and the young at heart.

By inviting passersby to interact and observe the invisible path of their messages, Spectrum leaves no one indifferent. During the Winter Glow event, the installation proved its value by:

Objectives of a Light Festival

During Winter Glow, Spectrum managed to create a real buzz and met the concrete objectives of a light festival:

  • Create an ephemeral gathering point where festival-goers can meet, exchange, and interact.

  • Generate a strong potential for shared content on social media thanks to its visual aesthetics and interactive nature.

  • Highlight themes of dialogue and living together, resonating with the social and cultural missions of many festivals.

  • Add a participatory artistic experience with an installation that combines technology, light, and human interactions.
