A sensory stroll through an urban field

Entre les rangs is a contemporary art installation that reinterprets a slice of Quebec’s agricultural history, evoking fields of wheat swaying in the wind as the seasons pass. Comprised of thousands of flexible stems topped with white reflectors, the work turns ambient stimuli into a dynamic animation. Surrender to a sensory experience and enjoy a fascinating winter stroll. As you walk along the winding paths, the stems merge into a gigantic canvas, rippling in the wind and caressed by light.

Composition: Flexible rods with reflectors assembled on rectangular Teflon bases (may vary according to site).

Footprint : With its maximum number of bases, i.e. 150 (15,000 rods): 21,000 ft2 / 1,950 m2

« This is the first of this magnitude. But for the past few years, we’ve liked to mix art and architecture. There is an interesting contrast between architecture, which is made to last, and art, which sometimes takes on an impermanent form, especially in installations like Entre les rangs. These projects allow us to open our horizons, to think more freely. It also allows us to experiment. For Entre les rangs, we worked a lot on the light with Udo Design. It will certainly influence our next architectural projects. »
