International Partnerships with Quartier des Spectacles

Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles is renowned for its ability to blend artistic innovation with urban vitality. At the heart of this success lies a proactive strategy of international partnerships and cultural exchanges. By forging strong connections with global cultural organizations and welcoming creative delegations, the Quartier des Spectacles continually expands its artistic horizons, enriching its cultural offerings and enhancing the urban experience for residents and visitors.

International Partnerships

Through its affiliation with the Global Cultural Districts Network (GCDN)*, the Quartier des Spectacles benefits from numerous international partnerships and exchanges. These collaborations enable the sharing of best practices and the development of artistic projects that push the boundaries of innovation.

*The Global Cultural Districts Network (GCDN) plays a key role in promoting cross-border collaborations in art and urban animation. By bringing together cultural leaders and creative districts from around the world, the GCDN facilitates the exchange of knowledge, practices, and resources.

Hosting International Delegations

Hosting international delegations from the cultural and creative industries is another essential aspect of enriching the Quartier des Spectacles. These visits help establish relationships with institutions and companies worldwide, paving the way for new partnerships and collaborations.

Development of Collaborative Projects

Hosting international delegations can also lead to the development of collaborative projects. For instance, foreign artists may be invited to participate in artist residencies, respond to project calls, or co-produce interactive installations. These collaborations enrich the cultural offerings of the Quartier des Spectacles and strengthen ties between Montreal and other cultural metropolises around the world.

On May 29, 2024, an agreement was signed between the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, QDSinternational, and Samoa, the urban and creative factory of Nantes Island, to strengthen our ties and coordinate innovative joint projects.
