LUMINO PRO 2026: Montreal, an International Hub of Winter Creativity

From February 25 to 27, 2026, Montreal pulsed with the rhythm of the second edition of LUMINO PRO, the international forum dedicated to winter creativity, cultural placemaking, and light art.

Presented by the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles in collaboration with Quartier des spectacles international, the event brought together nearly 160 professionals from Quebec, Canada, the United States, and Europe, including 30 international guests, around a shared objective: to make winter a true driver of cultural, economic, and territorial attractiveness.

Hosted in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles, globally recognized for its ability to transform the cold into a collective experience, LUMINO PRO offered a unique immersion in a vibrant and inspiring winter district.

A Gathering of International Expertise

Over three days, LUMINO PRO offered a rich and strategic program: conferences, panels, case studies, hands-on workshops, creative showcases, and professional networking sessions structured the discussions.

In total, 12 panels and conferences explored key themes, including a discussion dedicated to winter cities that brought together representatives from Toronto, Helsinki, Edmonton, Boston, Detroit, Niagara, and Montreal. This diversity of expertise reflects both the scope and the quality of the content presented.

A Professional Showcase and a Strategic Network

Beyond the conferences, LUMINO PRO established itself as a true platform for international collaboration.

The professional showcase brought together 15 producers of winter experiences through targeted meetings between municipalities, presenters, and creators. The objective: to generate concrete collaborations, stimulate the development of new initiatives, and position the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles and Quartier des spectacles international as leading partners in the design and winter activation of public spaces.

By structuring an international network of winter cities, LUMINO PRO strengthens its role as a strategic platform where expertise, urban innovation, and creativity converge in Montreal.

A warm welcome in Montreal

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our partners who made this edition of LUMINO PRO possible.

Our thanks go to SODEC and Caisse de la Culture Desjardins for their support, as well as to DoubleTree for its warm hospitality.

We also warmly thank the QuΓ©bec Government Offices in Boston, Chicago, Toronto, London, and New York, as well as Investissement QuΓ©bec, for their invaluable support. Their outreach efforts helped welcome a large number of international delegates to Montreal and strengthened exchanges between regions.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous hospitality of Moment Factory, AURA, the McCord Museum, OASIS Immersion, Place des Arts, and The 7 Fingers, who opened their doors to our guests. These encounters highlighted QuΓ©bec’s excellence and the richness of Montreal’s artistic ecosystem.

Between conferences, immersive visits, and moments of conviviality, we created lasting connections and paved the way for future collaborations. This second edition confirms LUMINO PRO’s potential as a strategic lever for development, attractiveness, and innovation for winter cities.

We are proud of this successful 2026 edition β€” and already looking ahead to what comes next.

During LUMINO PRO, we introduced our QuΓ©bec and international guests to Montreal and QuΓ©bec’s expertise in public space design through the LUMINO experience, initiated and produced by the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles.

From November to March, the event offers an original, captivating, and participatory winter experience in the Quartier des spectacles, featuring light and sound installations in public spaces, including the work Celestia by Kleis from our catalogue.
