QDSinternational was proud to take part for the very first time in the Business and Innovation Space at the Union of Quebec Municipalities (UMQ) Conference, held from May 15 to 16, 2025.
This essential event for the municipal sector — which took place this year at the Quebec City Convention Centre — brings together each spring hundreds of elected officials, municipal directors, and managers from all over Quebec to reflect on the crucial issues shaping the future of our communities.
For QDSi, this first participation was an excellent opportunity to connect with municipal decision-makers and showcase our expertise in cultural activation of public spaces, both locally and internationally.
A showcase for Quebec’s creative talent
We had the pleasure of attending the event alongside two of our valued creative collaborators:
-
Gestion Willart, presenting Prismaphonik, an immersive sound installation inviting the public to step into the role of conductor for an ephemeral urban orchestra.
-
Atracktiv, with their popular Musical Bikes, a playful and inclusive animation that transforms any public space into a participatory stage.
This lively, interactive experience was an instant icebreaker, sparking plenty of conversations and allowing us to build genuine, spontaneous connections with several municipal representatives eager to integrate this kind of activation into their public events and spaces. The more athletic visitors loved hopping on the bikes, while Primaphonik captured people’s attention with its poetic, collaborative approach to sound creation — a perfect example of how immersive installations can animate and transform public places.
Both of these locally designed and produced works brilliantly demonstrate the ability of Quebec’s creative talent to travel, connect with diverse audiences, and adapt to the realities of municipalities across the province — whether to enliven a downtown core, a municipal park, or a major public gathering.
