The Prismatica art installation, created by Raw Design, is made up of 25 prisms forming a labyrinth of color and light. Each prism is covered in dichroic film panels that, by day, play with ambient light and the viewer’s perspective to reveal the colors of the rainbow. At night, the installation transforms as projectors embedded in the prism bases illuminate, turning the space into a living canvas of vibrant hues and shifting patterns.
In 2024, the installation was presented in Downtown Atlanta, at the heart of Woodruff Park. This case study highlights the positive outcomes of its presentation and the concrete objectives it helped achieve.
A Clear Success
Presented from February 17 to March 17, 2024, Prismatica was selected to meet specific goals:
-
Offer Atlanta’s citizens an interactive artistic experience
-
Increase foot traffic at Woodruff Park
The results spoke for themselves. On February 22, Woodruff Park recorded 1,683 visits during the Prismatica launch event — the highest daily attendance for February and the second highest in 2024. That day’s attendance exceeded the February 2024 daily average by 110%. Compared to the same date in the previous year, visits to the park increased by an impressive 270%.
In the week following the launch, from February 22 to 29, park visits rose by 36% compared to the same period in 2023.
