Musical scores come to life when you enter this labyrinth composed of a dozen luminous, coloured prisms! Each beam of light symbolizes a virtuoso musician, highlighting the distinct sound of their instrument.
While the lights illustrate a musician’s movements, the different shades of colour clue you into a mathematical formula: the variations in light are keyed to the tension between each note in the performance.
This installation allows you to appreciate the nuances and complexities of symphonic music. Each prism is also sensitive to its environment, creating a conversation with the audience. By joining this visual and auditory symbiosis, you’ll become one with the music.

« We wanted to create a giant orchestra in which visitors could “see” the music and would feel as though they were part of it.
A composer writes a musical piece like a story, nuanced by the interplay of tensions and resolutions created by their selection of notes and the order in which they’re played.
Based on that principle, the idea was to create an algorithm to measure those relationships and discover their harmonic ratios. Then, we transpose the results to the colour wheel to create a link with a colour that would make sense.
[…] for the work to be truly complete, it was essential that the coloured light effects and music have a symbiotic relationship. »
